Match Preparation
In Football Manager 2024, a new Match Preparation tab in the Training section offers insights into the way real clubs and managers operate. You can set one tactical focus and two set piece focuses before each match, receiving staff recommendations on which tactical areas to study with your team.
Match Briefing Feedback Panel
Improvements to the pre-match briefing feedback panel include highlighting notable reactions from your captain or vice-captain and individually listing players in agreement with other reactions.
Offer Out on Loan via the Development Centre
The Development Centre now allows you to assess young talents and offer them to clubs directly, streamlining the process of boosting their chances of first-team football.
Player Swap Deals
During transfer negotiations, you can now select players to exchange from a dropdown menu, eliminating the need to navigate to another screen.
Overview of Managers per Competition
A competition-based panel displays all the managers in your league, along with a 'Duration at Team' measure to compare your tenure with rivals.
Most League Title and Champions Stats
New inbox items provide information on teams with the most league titles in a division and deliver statistics of the team named champions.
Fantasy Draft Improvements
In FM24, Fantasy Draft receives quality of life improvements, such as showing all shortlisted players during the Draft and the addition of a 'Skip Round' button.
Competition Rules
The Rule Groups team has made numerous updates to league rules worldwide. Examples:
- Gibraltar is now a default playable nation
- New English work permit system changes
- Large scale competition format changes including 2026 World Cup format
- Enabled a dynamic English youth system.
- Functionality for more than three nations to host a tournament.
- Improvements to substitution and foreign player rues across a number of leagues.
- In Argentina, there’s a new aggregate table for qualification to continental club competitions.
- In Malaysia: the new foreign player rule for the Super League.
- In Turkey: the dynamic drawing of teams for the 2. League Groups.
Game Speed
Despite numerous FM24 enhancements, including new ways to play, AI Squad Building upgrades, and an improved Match Engine, the game's processing has been optimized to make it quicker than FM23.
