FM23 Wonderkids - Goalkeepers

The goalkeeper is a position that is overlooked most of the times when signing new players. But a good and solid goalkeeper could be the difference between winning or losing in modern football. He is not only there to stop shots, he will also be given the task to be the first player in attack and the leader behind the defense. In this article we present you with the best young goalkeepers in Football Manager 2023. We have handpicked these players using our very own Player Database.

To give you a better overview of the available goalkeepers in the game we have decided to split this article into three sections: World Class Goalkeepers, Good Goalkeepers and Decent Goalkeepers.

FM23 World Class Goalkeepers

First the potentially World Class Goalkeepers. There are eleven players marked as a true wonderkid in FM23. There some well-known names on there, including Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier or Atletico Madrid's Alejandro Iturbe.

FM23 Good Goalkeepers

The next couple of players all have the potential to play in one of the big leagues, but they will never develop into a player of the level of Gianluigi Donnarumma. One of the notable players in this section is Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili. You don't see that many Georgian goalkeepers in the top leagues in Europe, so it's great to see him at Valencia.

FM23 Decent Goalkeepers

And finally a list with goalkeepers who have the potential to become decent goalkeepers and who are also available for a reasonable transfer fee. They will be able to hold their ground in the bigger leagues, but they won't be the top goalkeepers in those leagues. For a league that is a little down the table (Eredivisie, Jupiler Pro League etc) these goalkeepers could be amazing.

Notable mention for Moises Ramirez, who is not only a great player at the age of 21 but also a player who is amazingly cheap for his qualities.

Ones to Watch

The largest list we have is the Ones to Watch list. Here we have around 100 talented goalkeepers and they all have a dynamic potential between 60 and 80. This could mean they have the potential to be world class (at least 80) or that they will be mediocre (60). Because of their dynamic potential their maximum potential will be different on every save you start. Nevertheless it are players to watch!
