Ligue 1 - Wonderkids

The Ligue 1 has always been a fun league to play in when you start a new save in Football Manager. Prior to the big money of Paris Saint-Germain the Ligue 1 was a league that could be won by multiple teams and did not see many back to back champions.

While the league has now been dominated by PSG in recent years, starting a save in the highest tier of French football is still a lot of fun. You have a great challenge of beating the money from Paris and become a true challenger for the title every season.

The French leagues are also a place that has always brought forward a lot of talented players. Think about Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante, Didier Drogba, Robert Pires and Eden Hazard. The Ligue 1 still is one of the leagues that brings forward awesome talents and on this list you will find the best wonderkids in Football Manager 2021.

Ligue 1 Wonderkids

The selection on our list has been created with the following criteria:

• League = Ligue 1
• Age = Max 21
• Potential = At least 80 or higher

For the potential we use our own FMInside Rating instead of the original ratings from Football Manager.

Goalkeeper

There is only one player in the Ligue 1 that could be marked as a wonderkid goalkeeper. The 18-year-old Stefan Bajic plays for Saint-Etienne and could be considered as a talented player. However, he will need some serious development if you want him to reach his full potential.

Defenders

Four defenders have made the list and they are spread over Paris Saint-Germain, Olympique Marseille and AS Monaco, with the latter having two of these under contract. Marseille's Boubacar Kamara is probably the best pick of the four as he is already good enough to feature in L'OM's first team already. He is also capable of playing as a defensive midfielder, making him even more interesting as a player.

Midfielders

On the midfielders list we find the biggest wonderkid in Football Manager, Eduardo Camavinga. The 17-year-old (18 in real life) is a -10 wonderkid, putting him on the level of former -10 wonderkids like Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

Other notable players on the midfielders list of the Ligue 1 are Mickael Cuisance, who plays for Marseille on loan from Bayern Munich. Former PSG midfielder Yacine Adli is also an interesting player to keep track of. He has the potential to be one of the best playmakers in FM2021.

Attackers

The Ligue 1 has a total of six wonderkid attackers, which seems to be a little bit disappointing. Biggest name on the list is obviously Kylian Mbappe, who doesn't need any further introduction.

Interesting players to add on your shortlist are for example Jeremy Doku. The former Anderlecht winger signed for Stade Rennes during the summer and much is expected from the Belgian speedster. Amine Gouiri has been tipped as a wonderkid for several versions now and despite he failed to live up to the expectations at his boyhood club Olympique Lyon, he still is regarded as very talented.
