Top 5 potential FM24 Wonderkids

The world of Football Manager is always changing and every year a lot of people get excited by the prospect of new wonderkids. We are also very excited as we are eager to find out which wonderkids will be added to our very own FMInside Player Database.

To look ahead to FM24's database, we have collected five potential wonderkids, who are all looking to be added to the database of Football Manager 2024. For this article we have added all these wonderkids to FM23, using the FMUpdate and the screens you see are a first interpretation of what these wonderkids could be capable of.

1. Lamine Yamal - FC Barcelona

In this century the youth academy of Barcelona has produced some of the biggest talents the world has ever seen, including Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Xavi. And in 2023 a new talent has entered the stage: Lamine Yamal. He has already broken the record as the youngest player to feature for the club in an official game and has become the youngest player ever to record an assists and be crowned as the man of the match.

The expectations are high for this Spanish youngster and he could easily become the newest -10 wonderkid in FM24.

2. Kendry Paez - Chelsea

Future Chelsea player Kendry Paez has been playing on the highest stage in Ecuador since the age of 16, being the youngest debutant and goalscorer in the history of Ecuadorian football. This summer the talented youngester was one of the eyecatches on the U20 World Cup.

This versatile midfielder is known for his fabulous technique and his vision both on and off the ball. He is tipped as one of the future stars of South American football and he has the potential to become one of the best players in the world. He will join Chelsea in the summer of 2025 after he has turned 18 and the Blues will pay a massive 25 million euros to secure his signing.

3. Luka Vuskovic - Hajduk Split

This Croatian powerhouse is only 16 years old, but already considered as one of the leading talents in his home country. He currently plays for Hajduk Split and he earned himself the record of the youngest goalscorer in the Croatian league. This summer the talented defender was linked to several big European clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur. A move eventually fell through during the summer, but was then later on agreed. Vuskovic will join Tottenham in 2025.

FM24 will be his game debut and he will be given a high potential, that is for sure.

4. Ethan Nwaneri - Arsenal

Arsenal are known for their great academy and with Mikel Arteta at the helm the talents of their academy have been given the change to develop and grow into first team stars like Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Row. The latest talent to make it into the first team is Ethan Nwaneri, who became the youngest player to ever feature in a Premier League match last season.

In 2023, Arteta decided to keep the midfielder in the first selection and he can train with the big stars every day. Although he still often plays with Arsenal's U18s, he is also regularly part of the Gunners' matchday squad and a breakthrough seems only a matter of time. FM24 will be his debut in the game and we expect at least a -8 or even a -85 potential rating for Nwaneri.

5. Ethan Mbappe - Paris Saint-Germain

It's not easy being the younger brother of one of the best and biggest footballers in the world, but Ethan Mbappe seems to have no trouble following in the footsteps of his big brother and France super star Kylian.

Ethan, only 16, is a central midfielder and is praised for his technical skills, his vision  and composure in the final third. The youngest Mbappe plays for the U19 team of Paris Saint-Germain, but will be given his chances in the first team very soon. In FM24 we expect a lot from this youngster and we think of at least a -8 potential.
