FM23 - Bargain buys under 5M

Nothing is more fun than an unlimited transfer budget in Football Manager. You can buy players without any hassle and you will have little trouble building your ideal squad. Yet not all of us have an inexhaustible source of money and we are bound by small budgets.

We have put together a nice list especially for those FM fanatics. The list includes players who can be picked up for a transfer fee below 5M (salary requirements not included). In addition, we looked at players with a current ability that is high enough to compete in one of the better leagues.

All this together has resulted in a list of more than 100 players. To help you with that, we've split the list by line, making it easier to find the player you need.

Important - We look at the positions a player can play in. This may result in several players being on multiple lists.

Goalkeepers

If you are looking to add some experience to your FM23 squad, this area is for you. Not a single 'good' goalkeeper under 5M is aged under 30. But we can all agree that a 34-year-old goalkeeper could still be a class player! Most of these would be ideal as a back-up or as a mentor for your younger goalies.

Defenders

There is also many experience available in the defender department. The list is longer compared to the Goalkeeper list, but just like that list none of the players are younger than 30. These players could all prove to be great leaders and use their experience to help develop the younger players in your squad. Why not try to sign a 39-year-old Dani Alves and ask him to mentor your talented 21-year-old wingback?

Midfielders

On our Midfielders list the experience level is also very high but there are some interesting younger players to have a look at as well. What about Nicolas de la Cruz (25), Real Madrid and former Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos (25) and Argentinian ace Sebastian Driussi (26). Needless to say that there a lot of different players who could be very interesting for your team! Do you have an extra bit of transfer budget left? Why don't look at this list and try to sign one of these?

Forwards

The final list shows us the forwards who are available for a transfer fee under 5M (wage expectation not included). And this list is also one with a lot of experienced players and who doesn't love a veteran striker who comes on in the dying seconds of a game to score an amazing goal? But luckily this list also has some 'younger' players who could still develop. Bulgarian striker Kiril Despodov for example or Real Madrid striker Mariano. Both players who could boost the level of your attack for a reasonable fee.
