Sports Interactive have released a development update for Football Manager 2025.
New identity
Sports Interactive recently introduced a new logo and brand identity, alongside a significant partnership with the Premier League, a long-desired milestone. FM24 also celebrated reaching 10 million players, a record for the series.
Football Manager 25
FM25 will represent a significant shift, described as the largest technical change in over 20 years. The game will transition to the Unity engine, enhancing graphical fidelity and development efficiency. This change lays the groundwork for future advancements, including a brand-new User Interface (UI) designed to improve user experience across various devices.
New Features and Changes
A new tile and card system will streamline navigation and present information more intuitively.
The traditional inbox is replaced by the "Portal," offering a more modern interface inspired by real-world football managers’ communication tools.
Removed Features:
- Touchline Shouts: Removed due to implementation issues and will only return if they can be perfected.
- Social Media Screen: Integrated into other game areas to optimize the UI.
- Data Chalkboard: Discontinued due to low usage, replaced by the more effective Data Hub.
- Create-A-Club: Temporarily removed for substantial improvements, slated to return in FM26.
- Versus Mode: Removed due to low usage but may return in a reimagined form.
- Challenge Mode: Scheduled for a revamped return in either FM26 or FM27.
- Fantasy Draft: Not available at launch but will return later with significant enhancements.
Women’s Football Integration
FM25 will feature women’s football, including multiple secured licenses and the ability to manage both men’s and women’s teams within a single game ecosystem.
