A list with the top 10 youth ratings in Football Manager, including the top 5 talents for each nation.
Who doesn't love to develop youth in Football Manager. There's nothing like watching a talent from your own youth academy grow up to become a world star that ultimately leads your club to victory in the Champions League.
The quality of the youth in Football Manager is partly determined by the Youth Rating of countries. This rating is a score between 0 and 200, with 200 being the maximum score. Spoiler alert: no country has a rating of 200. A higher rating increases the chance of strong newgens, although at Sports Interactive it is argued that a higher rating is no guarantee on the new Lionel Messi or Kylian Mbappe. However, we know better: Countries with higher ratings simply produce the best and most talent and have the biggest chance of producing super newgens.
Youth Rating in FM21
On this list we present you the 10 countries with the highest ratings in Football Manager 2021. In addition, we give you an insight into the top five wonderkids per country in the standard database of FM21.
1. Brazil
The best newgens in the world will probably come from Brazil, which isn't a big surprise. Over the course of history there have been many great Brazilians and FM continues that tradition.

3. Italy
In third place is Italy and that isn't a big surprise as well. The Italians have produced great footballers throughout history and the Italian clubs have always been at the top of European football. However, over the past few years the quality of Italian football has dropped a bit and that should have resulted in a lower position on this list.

Number four in the list is France, the 2018 world champions. With Kylian Mbappe as their current major wonderkid and a past of great footballers, it seems fair to have the French listed in the top 5.

5. Argentina
The South Americans have the same rating as both France and Spain. Which seems a fair rating for the Argentinians. We feel they should have been higher than Italy, but with a joined fourth place, Argentina will produce some great newgens in FM21.

6. Spain
The 2010 World Champions have evolved their approach to football since the 21st century. Youth football is very important these days in Spain and some of the best young talents are developed in the Southern European country. A joined fourth place alongside Argentina and France is well-deserved.

7. Egypt
The biggest surpise on the list is Egypt. The Africans are not known for their amazing footballers, despite being the record champion of the Africa Cup of Nations. FM21 does recognise their potential and gave them a nice 7th position on this ranking.

Another surprising nation in the top 10 is Turkey. Whilst they have produced some amazing players in the past, we can't say they have been producing a lot of world class talents over the past few years.

9. Netherlands
A nation we would have expected higher on the list are the Netherlands. With Ajax they have one of the best wonderkid factories in the world and with world class players like Johan Cruyff, Marco van Basten, Dennis Bergkamp, Arjen Robben and Frenkie de Jong on their long list, the Dutch should have been a bit higher on the list or at least ahead of Egypt and Turkey.

10. Nigeria
Tenth place and final country on this list is Ngeria. Though, we have to admit that both Mexico and England have the same youth rating. However, we felt the urge to put Nigeria on this list. The Africans are known for their great football players and deserve to be one of the top African countries for producing quality youth players.
