Looking ahead towards the release of Football Manager 2019, we have decided to create a list with 5 potential Football Manager 2019 wonderkids, potentially matching the potential of players like Kylian Mbappe and Gianluigi Donnarumma, the only two -10 wonderkids in FM2018.
We have handpicked a total of five players that don’t exist in the original database of Football Manager 2018 and could be included in the new game as Football Manager 2019 wonderkids. The players we have selected are all born in or after September 1st 2001, which makes them at most 16 years old.
The list with potential Football Manager 2019 Wonderkids in random order:
Middlesbrough – 16-years-old – Defender
The young English centre-back became Middlesbrough’s youngest player ever to feature in an official game on ASugust 14 2018, when he played for Boro in the League Cup game against Notts County. Wood has already been capped at U16 level for England and it is expected he will be joining the U17/U18 squad later this year.
We expect Wood to be part of Middlesbrough squad in Football Manager 2019. We expect that the defender will be granted a -8 or -8.5 potential.
FC Barcelona – 15-years-old – Midfielder
Dutch football fans are excited that Football Manager 2019 could be the first game to feature young starlet Xavi Simons. The 15-year-old midfielder is considered to be the next big wonderkid in FC Barcelona’s youth set-up after Lionel Messi and much is expected from the young Dutch U16 international, especially after winning four successive Ballon d’Or’s for youth players.
Simons, who has been captain of his team for three seasons, is expected to receive at least a -9 potential in Football Manager 2019.
Inter / Genua – 16-years-old – Striker
Making his debut for Genua in the Serie A last summer, Eddy Salcedo is considered to be one of the best young players from Italy. There were many clubs battling to sign the young forward, with Internazionale eventually completing his signing. He is on loan at the Nerazzurri, but will most likely be signed on a permanent deal next summer.
We are quite sure Salcedo will feature in Football Manager 2019. We expect him to be given at least a -8.5 or even a -9 potential.
KRC Genk – 16-years-old – Goalkeeper
The new Thibaut Courtois? Well, at least he shows similarities with the Real Madrid goalkeeper. Playing for KRC Genk in Belgium and being capped at U17 level, the young goalkeeper has been hailed as one of Belgium’s bright stars for the future. He has already been training with Genk’s first team since January and his senior debut could not be far away.
Vandevoordt is likely to be added to the Football Manager 2019 database. We expect him to receive a -8 or -8.5 potential.
RB Salzburg – 16-years-old – Striker
Young German youth international Karim Adeyemi has recently completed a €3M transfer from Unterhaching to Austrian giants RB Salzburg. It is believed he has a big future ahead of him in football. He is currently on loan at FC Liefering, RB Salzburg’s affiliate club. There he will be playing for at least two seasons before heading back to Salzburg.
We believe that Adeyemi will be added to the Football Manager 2019 database. We expect him to have either a -8 or -85 potential.
