Part 4 - Settling at the club

Now that I was contracted by FC Chomutov some weeks ago, I have been settling at the club. I am getting to know my team, know my backroom staff and I am beginning to feel at home here in the Czech Republic. In this Blog Update I will give you an inside look at the club and I will have you learn more about my backroom staff.

Backroom Staff

When I signed my contract, I already knew I was going to need to put some work into my backroom staff. On the screen below you see the Backroom Staff list at the club at the time of me signing my contract.

Right after the chairman introduced me to the club and told me some information about the clubs history, I met my Assistant Manager, Tomas Duda. A nice guy, but not a very talented man. I knew that if I wanted to guide this club to success, he would be one of the first people to walk. I started a search for a new Ass-Man and I came across Milan Palicka. A 33-year-old Czech Assistant Manager who had some similar preferences as myself. He prefers an adventurous 3-5-2 formation, just like me and his Level of Discipline and Judging Abilities were far greater than Duda's. My choice has been made, Milan Palicka is my new Assistant Manager.

Other changes to the staff

Signing a new assistent was not the only change that I have made in the Backroom Staff. I decided to retain the rest of the staff, but I signed some new additions. I signed an extra Scout, a Physio and a Coach. Instead of searching for new staff members, I decided to run some Adverts. After a while I got some applicants and signed one new member for every position that I wanted to fill.

Ok, these guys aren't top quality, but for a fourth division club in the Czech Republic they will do! All have been signed on an amateur deal and will be at our club as long as they desire, or if they are signed by another club.

When I load up a new save I always pick January or February as a start date. This because I normally play saves with a lot of Leagues loaded and by picking a early startdate I get the chance to fill up most Vacant Positions. My in-game date is now May 1st 2016 and my squad has just been sent on Holiday for the Summer Break. They will report back in time for the start of the season on July 4th 2016, giving us four weeks to prepare ourselves for the new season.

For me and my backroom staff there will be no Holiday. We will be searching the Transfer Market, hoping to find us some quality players. My next blog will be published after the Pre-Season has been done. I will then publish more about our Transfers, Our first results and our Tactics for the season.
