Part 11 - Halfway in the season

The Norwegian 3. Divisjon is on its halfway point and the summer transfer window has opened its doors in July. Roger Speed's Valdres FK would have a busy schedule as the Northmen would play 5 games, whilst the young Englishman wouldt try to sign new players as well.

We start off with the results in the League. A bit of a bad start, as we also lost our final match in June. I would have hoped I could say that the loss was not deserved, but I can only give compliments to Hauerseter, who played a very good game. The next game was away at Kongsvinger and we were lucky to draw that one. We didn't perform well and we were pressured back on our own half. We had to thank Mikkel Hasling, who had an outstanding game in goal for us.

From the game against Ardal we had snapped up some new guys on the Transfer Market and you could instantly see what kind of impact these lads could be making on our team. Ardal was at the time of the match the current League leaders and we outplayed them as if it was nothing. We then picked up another win away Flisa, and then showed again what kind of transition we have made signing those new lads. Fu/Vo was (and is) sitting on top of the League and no-one gave us any chance. But we showed our qualities by outplaying them in the full ninety minutes. Vemund Knutsen and Dan Monell picking up the goals for us.

We can look back on a very good month, even though we lost at home to Hauerseter, it has been a great month for Valdres. Picking up three straight wins has put us into sixth place, only four points behind the leaders in the League. A Championship is not a serious goal for Valdres this season, but it will be fun to see where will be at the end of the season. There are still 12 games to be played, so anything can happen. But, since we have a 10 point lead over Gran, who are in 10th place, I could say that have definitely claimed a top 10 spot for this season.

Now lets talk about the 'new' guys. We picked up three transfers and all new players are defenders. Our midfield and attack has enough quality, but we lacked in the back. So, Franklin Opuama is a experienced Centre-back, who will be playing as a starter as soon as he is fit again. Erlend Kroksgard is a Left Full-Back. He is considered to be a Defensive Full Back, not a Wing Back that loves to roam the left side of the pitch. Last but not least is Patrick Solvang, who is a Right Full-Back. Up to that transfer my team did not have a decent player for this position, so I am very happy we finally got one.

1099.png01-07-2016 | Financial report shows Valdres' losses in June (€22.259).

1099.png02-07-2016 | Valdres Board satisfied with George Speed's performances.

1099.png13-07-2016 | Miguel Hamutenya is on a 4 week trial at Valdres, trying to earn a contract.

On the pitch we had a very good month, but off the pitch it has not been going well for us. Again some heavy losses and as an effect the Transfer Revenue has been decreased. But on the sunny side of that; we won't be selling any players for high fees. The board has actually been decreasing something I am not using at all... I hope you all enjoyed the read and I am looking forward to seeing you return for another Blog Update.
