Part 10 - Top 10 here we come?

Valdres FK's form could be called rather precarious during the first two months of the Norwegian football season. Despite having a decent form on the pitch, the results were not as they hoped for. In the final month before the Mid Summer Break Roger Speed's side is hoping to break the deadlock and pick up a few wins. Will the young manager get the much needed wins? Enjoy the read!

We played three games in June and we started off pretty good. We picked up two wins in a row, which made us claim a spot inside the top 10 of the League. Both victories were deserved, as we played very well. Unfortunately we closed our first season half with a 2-1 loss away at Jevnaker, who are joined leaders in the League. I have to admit that they were the better team on that day and the victory was deserved. But I always find it a shame to lose a game in the final third, just after you equalized after an hour of play. And to make it even more sour, we got some opportunities to get a second goal as well! Only the post was in our way of netting an undeserved 1-2 lead in the 76th minute. Shortly after that we conceded the 2-1 and the match was over, despite Jevnaker getting a red card in the 89th minute. It was too late for us to change the game.

Two wins in three games makes June 2016 a good month for Valdres FK. We managed to climb into the top ten, with a decent 7th place. Only downside is the gap that we have with the team who's in 5th place. A gap of 5 points is a big gap at this level and seeing we aren't a team that will win 5 or 6 matches in a row, it will be very difficult to close it. But looking back we can be very satisfied and we look forward to the end of the summer break in July.
