fmi update – FM20 – 20/21 Update

Are you ready to venture into the 2020/2021 season? The fmi update will change Football Manager 2020 as if you are playing Football Manager 2021! In this update ALL summer transfers will be updated and included into the start of a new save! Also, all leagues and cups that have finished have been progressed and have the correct rosters of the 2020/2021 season.

This update has been created using the 20.4.0 database of Football Manager 2020.

  • ALL confirmed summer transfers until 19/09/2020 start directly at their new club
  • Important – We are aware that there is an error with the English League Cup. This is a hard coded problem that can’t be changed. During the first season there will be no fixtures scheduled. From the second season the cup will be planned as usual.

How to install the fmi update 20/21

These are instructions for when you download it directly. If you choose to download it from Steam, the game will automatically add the update to your editor data folder.

  1. Download the fmi update 20/21 by clicking the download button.
  2. Move the .fmf file to the following location:Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2020/editor data/
  3. If the editor data folder doesn’t exist you can create it yourself.
  4. Start FM20 and start a new career.
  5. When selecting your database make sure the fmi update 20/21 is ticked.
  6. Select the 20.4.0 database before continuing to the advanced settings.
  7. After you have selected your database, pick the nations & leagues and start your game!
  8. Have fun!!

IMPORTANT!: Using multiple or different data updates could result in unexpected errors and possible corrupt save games and/or crashes. We do not test our update alongside any other data updates and are not able to recommend any updates or files to use. Also: don’t forget to remove older versions of the fmi update before you start a new save.
