Football Manager 2020 5 Best Head of Youth's for a 4-3-3 formation

5 Best Head of Youth’s for a 4-3-3 formation

Developing youth players into world class players is one of the biggest enjoyments in Football Manager. Everybody loves to see how a youngster moves up through your own youth team and then plays for the first team.

A thing we often see in our social groups is that someone gets crappy youth intakes with players you can’t use in your formation. While the youth intake is pretty much random (while some areas can have a positive affect) the presence of a good Head of Youth Development is essential.

But only having a Head of Youth is not enough. He might have the best attribute levels you can imagine, but if he lacks the personality or correct tactical preferences your yearly youth intake could be crap every year.

On this list we have for you today are the 5 Best Head of Youth Developments in Football Manager 2020, but only for the managers who love to play a 4-3-3 (or 4-1-4-1 DM Wide).

We have searched the FM20 20.4 database and found the best of the best. We used the following criteria to create this list:

  • Preferred Job: Head of Youth
  • Preferred formation: 4-1-4-1 DM Wide
  • Judging player ability: 16
  • Judging player potential: 17
  • Working with youngsters: 17

To not keep you waiting, here is the list with five best Head of Youth Developments in FM2020:

Dinko Jelicic

Currently unemployed, Dinko Jelicic has held various positions over the past decade. He has been a Under 18 Manager, a first team manager but he has also worked as a scout for Spanish side Alaves. He is currently without a club and is open to take on a job as Head of Youth.

Michele Cavalli

The Italian Michele Cavalli is currently employed at Serie A side Sassuolo as a first team coach. He could also work as a scout and as a Head of Youth Development. His tactical style is cautious, so only sign him if you are planning to put the emphasis on your defense.

Jean-Francois Vulliez

The Head of Youth development of the famous Olympique Lyon youth setup. The French side has one of the best youth academies in the world. Jean-Francois Vulliez has been the HoYD at Lyon since 2017 and he is one of the best in the game. He also has a resolute personality, which is ideal for a Head of Youth.

Jozo Bandic

Just like Lyon, Dinamo Zagreb has one of the best youth academies in the world. And this Jozo Bandic has been at the helm of this academy since 2003. He has been responsible for the development of many great players including Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic.

Josep Boada

Last on the list is FC Barcelona scout Josep Boada. He has been with the club since 1995 and has held many different positions, including head scout and manager of the C team. From 2015 he has been working as a scout at the club, but he is still keen on the Head of Youth job.
