Welcome back to the FM Premier League! Recently, we have been losing way too much, but this week, it was a crucial match against relegation rivals Cardiff City. This was a must-win!
This week, I made 3 changes to the side. Alfie Mawson replaced Denis Odoi, who was disappointing last week. Elsewhere, Ryan Sessegnon replaced Joe Bryan at left-back, and Luciano Vietto replaced Floyd Ayite at right wing.
Fulham vs Cardiff
Our first half was absolutely excellent. We finally were starting to look clinical and had our first goal through Andre Schurrle on 28 minutes. Alexsandar Mitrovic crossing for the German to finish calmly. Luciano Vietto scored our second on 37 minutes, with a header from a corner. We held a 2-0 lead at the break, and I was happy.
My happiness didn’t last, however, as our second half was abysmal. We held our lead strongly up until the 70th minute, when Danny Ward scored for Cardiff. After that, we seemed to fall apart. Danny Ward had his second and Cardiff’s equaliser 10 minutes later, and of course, Bobby Reid scored an 89th minute winner for Cardiff, and they had overturned our lead. Awful.
This was a game of two halves today. We were brilliant in the first half, keeping Cardiff out and being clinical going forward. We seemed to revert back to the same old Fulham in the second half, however. Our defence was shockingly open and seemed to panic as soon as they scored. Substitute Danny Ward absolutely tore us apart, scoring 2 and grabbing an assist.
This was a crucial game in our season, and it was a must-win. This is really disheartening to see that even when we go 2-0 up, we still can’t maintain a lead. I am really starting to worry about relegation now, and our last win seems like ages ago. We have not won in a very long time now, and this must change.
Next Opponent: Bournemouth (CookieFM)
Our next opponent is another must-win game. We will be up against Bournemouth managed by CookieFM. We have to start getting wins sometime soon, our bad luck has to end soon. Hopefully next week w ecan finally end this poor run of form.
