Welcome back to the FM Premier League! Last time out, our struggling Fulham side suffered yet another loss to Chelsea. This week, we faced FMLobster’s Leicester, would our luck be different this week?
This week, there was 4 changes to the team. In defence, Cyrus Christie and Joe Bryan replaced Maxime Le Marchand and Ryan Sessegnon. Whilst in attack, Lazar Markovic and Ryan Babel replaced Andre Schurrle and Luciano Vietto. We also switched to a 4-2-3-1 gegenpress style to try to see if a new formula would work.
Fulham vs Leicester
Unfortunately, this week was more of the same for Fulham. After Leicester scored a sloppy goal through Jonny Evans after just 10 minutes, we were once again in the familiar position of being behind. We failed to create any chances of note in the first half.
After making changes at half-time, the second half was not much different to the first. Jamie Vardy made it 2-0 just 2 minutes into the second half, and after an uninspiring performance, the game ended 2-0 to Leicester.
This week was perhaps one of the most disappointing performance we’ve had this season. In such a crucial game in terms of the relegation battle, we failed to trouble Leicester at all, and gifted them an easy victory. We need to find a winning formula now, or else I fear the worst for this Fulham team. I will keep trying, hopefully something will click and we can develop a good run of form, or else we could be doomed.
Next Opponent: Manchester United (MaddFM)
Next up is a very hard game, we will be up against Manchester United, managed by fellow Irishman MaddFM. I’m looking forward to facing the only other Irish manager in the FM Premier League, but I’m not looking forward to the trouncing we’re going to get! Hopefully, next week finally be the week we find the winning formula, but I doubt it!
