FM Premier League – Matchweek 11

Welcome back to the FM Premier League! Last week, we tried out a new tactic and saw some improvements, but still could not get that highly coveted win. With a game against BadJokesGaming’s Huddersfield this week, could we get that win this week?

This week I went with the same 4-2-3-1 Gegenpress that saw us perform well last week. I made 2 role changes, with Maxime Le Marchand switching to a Ball Playing Defender, and Alexsandar Mitrovic switching to a Complete Forward.

I made 2 changes to the team, with Ryan Sessegnon returning from suspension at left-back, and 1 of 3 new signings, Lazar Markovic, starting ahead of Luciano Vietto. Both of the other new signings, Ryan Babel and Havard Nordtveit, made the bench.

Huddersfield vs Fulham

The first half began rather quiet, with Huddersfield getting the majority of the early chances. After making a tweak to my tactics, switching to more direct passing, we quickly saw a change. Alexsandar Mitrovic put us ahead after 29 minutes when Tom Cairneyy played him in.

We soon doubled our lead, with Lazar Markovic scoring his first goal for the club, on his debut! I was delighted with my team’s performance in the first half, but I knew I couldn’t get too excited just yet.

The second half was almost a repeat of the first.Huddersfield starting off well, but after another tactical change, we soon regained control of the game. With Ryan Babel coming on for Andre Schurrle to make his debut, we had pace in our attack again. As a result of this, we were able to get our third through Mitrovic once again on 63 minutes.

The game only got better for us, with Markovic adding a 4th to bag a debut brace! After a goalkeeping howler by Lossl in the closing stages of the game, Mitrovic was able to complete his hat-trick and make it 5-0 to Fulham!

Match Reaction

I was absolutely ecstatic with my team’s performance today. We were excellent all over the pitch, and finally looked like a proper team!

The additions of Markovic, Babel and Nordtveit are already making a difference, with Markovic bagging a brace on his debut! I was also delighted to see Mitrovic finally prove himself, with a really impressive hat-trick.

Next Opponent: Liverpool (Dammo_23)

Our next opponent will be a very tough one, we will be up against title challengers Liverpool managed by Dammo_23. After a great result this week, I’m hoping we can provide another similar performance next time out!
