Up first, a trip to beautiful Italy. Inter Milan (or Internazionale) have added excellently this window, signing a total of 8 players as of this post being uploaded. With the club finishing in 4th place in Serie A last season, you will be playing Champions League football in your first season at the San Siro.
With an already talented squad, featuring the likes of Croatian winger Ivan Perisic, Slovakian defender Milan Skriniar, and captain Mauro Icardi, Milan have still added even more quality this Summer. With the permanent signings of Stefan De Vrij, Radja Naingolan, Kwadwo Asamoah and FM18 wonderkid Lautaro Martinez, you shouldn’t be too far off competing for the Scudetto with Juventus and neighbours A.C Milan.
Along with the loan signings of World Cup star Sime Vrsaljko and Monaco youngster Keita Balde, Inter Milan are quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with, and with you as manager, they could be the next football giant.
Looking for more of a challenge in FM18? Sunderland have been written off by many as a doomed club. Having suffered back-to-back relegations, the once Premier League ever-present club find themselves down in the depths of League One. With some very hugh-earning players on the wage bill, such as Lee Cattermole and Didier Ndong, you will need to offload quite a few to keep the club a-float.
Sunderland have prepared well for League One, adding the likes of Jack Baldwin from Peterborough, Reece James from Wigan, and Jerome Sinclair from Watford. Along with young talent such as Donald Love, Lynden Gooch and Josh Maja, Sunderland are definitely capable of returning to the Championship at the first time of asking.
When people saw the three teams promoted to the Premier League this season, Wolves were the team predicted to splash the cash and really make an attempt to finish in the top half of the league. Fulham, however, have seemingly come out of nowhere and spent £106 million in the Summer, becoming the first promoted team to ever spend over £100 million in their first season.
And that £106 million has not gone to waste. Fulham have signed 12 players in the window, including rumoured Barcelona target Jean Michel Seri, Swansea defender Alfie Mawson and Borussia Dortmund winger Andre Schurrle. Along with these 3 eye-catching signings, Fulham have signed goalkeepers Fabri and Sergio Rico, defenders Calum Chambers, Maxime Le Marchand, Joe Bryan and Timothy Fosu-Mensah, as well as strikers Aleksandar Mitrovic and Luciano Vietto.
Fulham are a very interesting team, who are capable of anything in their first season back in the Premier League. They could finish as high as 5th or 6th, but could easily be involved in a relegation battle, should they be managed poorly.
Sporting CP became one of the most interest stories in football this Summer. After missing out on a Champions League spot, a group of 50 masked fans attacked the squad in the training ground last May. This resulted in William Carvalho, Rui Patricio, Gelson Martins, Bryan Ruiz, Daniel Podence and Rafael Leao all terminating their contracts.
This has left Sporting in a very sticky situation, they have lost the core of their squad, without getting any transfer fees. They have managed to keep hold of star striker Bas Dost, however, and withe additions of Brazilian wonderkid Raphinha and former Manchester United winger Nani, Sporting still have enough talent to compete in the Liga NOS.
Bayer Leverkusen impressed in the Bundesliga last season, achieving Europa League qualification by finishing 5th. With an incredibly young squad, featuring the likes of Leon Bailey, Jonathan Tah, Tin Jedvaj, Benjamin Henrichs, Julian Brandt, Lucas Alario and Kevin Volland, Leverkusen are a very exciting prospect.
Having added right back Mitchell Weiser from Hertha BSC and Brazilian winger Paulinho from Vasco De Gama in the Summer, Leverkusen are on the verge of becoming the biggest club in Germany, and with age of their squad, they could be at the top for a while to come.
