If you read my last Blog Update you should know we picked up three straight wins in July. Well, we managed to continue that impressive run in August, almost winnen all four matches. We started the month with a big 3-0 win against Sander IL. In my opinion that was our best game of the season. We controlled the play, created chances and got some pretty decent goals. We continued the run against Lillestrom, although this was a hard fought one. Simen Hoglien gave us the win, just three minutes before the end of the game...
A week later we played Hallingdal, who are in last place, and we showed a great deal of class. They did not manage to put a single shot on goal and we controlled the play from start to finish. Goals from Aidan Hawtin and Miguel Hamutenya gave us a decent 0-2 win. After three wins the morale was high and the motivation was there to keep on fighting. But we collapsed in the game against Gran IL. I tried everything during the game, but we were outclassed in every area that day. Gran played a fantastic game and gave us no chance of getting a result. Compliments for them, a reality check for us. This shows we can't win games just by showing up...
We are coming towards the end of the season as twenty games have been play so far. With the six match win streak we have made a big jump on the table, going from the top ten to a top three position. And knowing that if we won the game against Gran, we would have been challenging for the title.
There are six games remaining in the season and literally everything could still happen. If we can pick up our form again an get back to winning, we could definitely make a challenge for the title. We play Skedsmo, so a win would bring us very close again. But if our form is lost we could easily end up in eighth or even ninth place! Whatever will happen, the final games of the season will bring a lot of excitement!
If you had read all the details in my previous update, you would have noticed we picked up a Wing Back on trial last month. After I watched him closely during two games with the reserves, me and my staff we eager to sign Miguel Hamutenya. He signed a contract for 1.5 season and has already featured in three games, picking up a goal against Hallingdal. In the remaining two months of the season I will steadily give Hamutenya more minutes, as his fitness gets to the accepted level. My expectations are that he will be our first choice on the Full Back Right position.

Well that sums up the past month in Norway. It was a very steady month for us, but I am a bit gutted with the loss at home to Gran. We really could have challenged for the title, but with the loss we are trailing once again. Lets hope we can pick up our form once again in September. It would be amazing if we could finish in the Top Three. Finally I would like to thank you all for reading once again, hoping to welcome you back when a new Blog is released!
